Three Indian army personnel booked for kidnapping and molesting of 9-yr-old girl in Occupied Kashmir

 

Three army personnel have been found  involved in the abduction bid on a nine-year-old girl last week in Chewa area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

A local news gathering agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) quoting unnamed officials reported that the three persons who were held on 10 February this month are army troopers.

“The accused Army soldiers have been identified as Subedar Harbachan Singh, Naik Amit Tahkor, and Hawaldar Manzoor Ahmad. All the three are under police detention,” the agency quoted sources saying.

An official was also quoted confirming to the agency that police have registered an FIR bearing number 15/2021 under sections 341, 363, 511 IPC last week at Police Station Sumbal following the family’s complaint.

Speaking to reporters, the father of the girl said that the police is investigating the matter. “I am glad that my daughter is fine. I am a daily wage laborer and can’t follow up on what’s going on. She was returning from her class when the trio, as per eyewitnesses, attempted to take her away,” he said.

He also added that as per the eyewitnesses the trio was in a Maruti Alto car and trying to take her inside the car. “They were carrying three different number plates in the car,” he said.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Bandipora, Rahul Malik confirmed to the news agency that three arrests have been made in this regard, “We have not received any complaint so far about reports of pressurizing,” he said.  Adding that no one is being pressured from any quarter as further investigations into the matter are underway.
