Release of IIOJK Hurriyat leaders, activists demanded
Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement, Abdul Majeed Mir has expresses concern over the worst health condition of illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists in jails and demanded their release.
Abdul Majeed Mir in a statement issued in Islamabad deplored that the life of Kashmiri political detainees were in dangers in Indian jails due to increase in COVID-19 pandemic.
He said that many Hurriyat leaders in various jails of India were suffering from severe fever and other symptoms of COVID-19, but it is sad that they were neither being tested nor sent to the hospital.
Abdul Majeed Mir deplored that it was very sad that most of the Kashmiri political leaders, the honorable members of civil society and even many female political leaders have been forced to live in jails without presenting them in court.
He appealed to the international human rights organizations to use their influence for release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists on humanitarian basis as their lives are in danger due to spike in COVID-19 pandemic.
