Kashmiri political prisoners in grave danger with Covid 19 and worst kind of discrimination. Tehreek e Muzahamat
Tehreek e Muzahamat Chairman Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui has said that amid fresh lethal wave of Covid 19 and worst kind of discrimination and political vendetta hundreds of Kashmiri political prisoners are in grave danger and risk in various jails of Jammu Kashmir and outside.
Given its colonial mindset Indian authorities are intentionally playing with hundreds of Kashmiri political prisoners life and drawing sadistic pleasure out of this imperialist mindset.
The reports emerging from family and other sources about the condition of prisoners is so annoying and worrying. Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui said.
Elaborating he said that Kashmiri political prisoners lodged in various jails are facing worst kind of victimization at hands of authorities.
One among them APHC leader Advocate Shahid ul Islam who is already suffering from various ailments has tested positive for Covid 19. Despite this he has been denied medical aid and not put to isolation either putting other prisoners like APHC Geelani leader Muhammad Altaf Shah who is lodged in same cell to contract the virus.
In Udhampur Jail Tehreek e Hurriyat Chairman Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai who amid his old age is already suffering from total hearing loss and intense bone related ailments has reportedly now lost his eyesight to the extent that he is even unable to read Quran.
MDM Chairman Dr. Muhammad Qasim who is also lodged in same jail already suffering from loss of eyesight and chronic intestinal infection has generated symptoms of Covid 19 and despite Jail Doctors advice for a Covid test has been denied by authorities citing that if he comes out positive this will create panic in the Jail hence putting all other prisoners lodged there in grave risk of contracting the virus.
The condition of other prisoners such as JKLF supremo Muhammad Yasin Malik, Democratic Freedom party chairman Shabir Ahmed shah, Muslim league Chairman Masrat Alam but APHC G Spokesperson Muhammad Ayaz Kabar, National Front Chairman Nayim Ahmed Khan Tehreek e Hurriyat leaders Peer Saifullah and Mehraj ud Din Kalwal is also worry some as they are all suffering from various ailments already and prone to contract the virus.
Dukhtaran e Millat President Syeda Asiya Andrabi Her colleagues Nahida Nasreen and Fehmeeda Sofi are also suffering from Various ailments and are denied even basic medical facilities.
Given the grim situation amid fresh covid 19 wave parents and relatives of prisoners in general and common masses in particular worried about the health and safety of their loved ones.
These few examples coming out from prisons amid strict censure ship reflects the over all condition hundreds of prisoners are facing in other prisons.
Bilal Ahmed Sidiqui has appealed International Human Rights Organisations such as Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and ICRC to take strong note of this grave human rights violation of hundreds of Kashmiri political prisoners and use their good offices to prevail upon New Delhi to provide basic medical facilities to the prisoners and took all necessary measures to safeguard their lives amid this pendamic.
