IFJHRJK Protests in Muzaffarabad

International Forum for Justice Human Rights Jammu Kashmir (IFJHRJK) organized a protest rally in Muzaffarabad against the draconian decision of Indian government to shift innocent Kashmiri prisoners lodged in Kashmir jails to outside prisons located in India.

Holding banners and placards, the IFJHRJK protested the Indian govts. decision and demanded immediate halt to such a draconian move amid the raging pandemic.
Addressing the rally on phone from Srinagar, Indian administered Kashmir, Chairman IFJHRJK, Mohammad Ahsan Untoo said that Indian Supreme Court ruling clearly states that the prisoner should be lodged in a jail closer to his home. He, however, said it was highly unfortunate that Indian government blatantly ignored the ruling of its own apex court. And instead, the stubborn Indian govt. has put innocent Kashmiris in jails using black laws, he said, adding, in these times of Covid19, Kashmiri prisoners are treading between the life and death due to the raging Covid19 pandemic in India.
“Whether Yasin Malik is alive or not no one knows? Shahid-ul-Islam who is suffering from corona is not being shifted to hospital, neither he is being provided any medical help. Similarly Farooq Ahmad Dar is also infected with Covid19. Fahmeeda Sofi, Asiya Andrabi, Nahida Nasreen, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai, Sajad Ahmad Bhat, Amir-e-Hamza, Abdul Rashid Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, Imtiyaz Haider, Farooq Ahmad Tawheedi, and Ghulam Qadir Bhat Mehraj din NANDA,,Ayaiz Akber,, Mehraj din Kalwal,, Ghulam Muhammad Bhat Muzafar Dar, Mehmood Topiwala,,Bashir Ahmed Bhat,, shahid yousf,,Shakeel Yousuf,,are lodged in Indian jails since years together. The shocking thing is that till date no charge has been proved against them. It is a clear indication of how Indian govt misused its black laws to frame the innocent people.”
Untoo said that relatives of the Kashmiri prisoners have no idea about their health conditions, adding, instead of releasing the prisoners, the government is shifting prisoners lodged in Kashmir jails to Indian jails which has put their life at great risk due to the coronavirus.
He said that Nazir Ahmad Sheikh,(Gull Dentar), who has been awarded life term, a resident of Batamaloo has detained in Kot Balwal jail Jammu.
His family has written to the authorities, police officials and jail authorities to shift him to Kashmir, but the government has denied him prisoners’ rights.
Untoo said that the family is suffering due to the inhuman approach of the MODi,,Amit Shah,, Aijit Devol,,Indian Government authorities.
The family has written to the Director General of Prisons, SSP Srinagar and other officials seeking Sheikh’s shifting from Kot Balwal jail Jammu to Srinagar,,
Untoo said that the District Magistrate Srinagar had taken the case after the family filed a petition. The court directed the jail authorities to release him on parole. Despite that Sheikh was not shifted from Kot Balwal jail to Srinagar yet.
He said the UN, UNSC and human rights organisations should put pressure on Indian authorities to release the Kashmiri political prisoners, including those who have been awarded lifers in view of the raging COVID 19 pandemic. He also urged the international bodies to prevail upon India so they stop shifting prisoners from Kashmir jails to Indian prisons.
Untoo also urged the Azad Kashmir govt, its president and prime minister, religious and political parties to play their part in highlighting the worst human rights situation in Indian administered Kashmir. He also urged pakistan government to play its part in highlighting the human rights violations in Kashmir.
