A protest was held outside the Indian embassy against the martyrdom of Hurriyat Kashmir chairman Ashraf Sahrai in an Indian jail. Protesters held banners and placards with anti-India slogans. Addressing the protest, the leaders said that the martyrdom of Ashraf Sahrai was an extrajudicial killing.

Hurriyat Conference Information Secretary Abdul Matin Sheikh termed the martyrdom of Hurriyat Kashmir Chairman Ashraf Sahrai in an Indian jail as extrajudicial killing and demanded an investigation from international organizations. Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League,also paid rich tributes to Jenab M Ashraf Sahrayee during a rally, He said that the icon of freedom struggle achieved martyrdom in an Indian prison. No proper medical facilities were given to him during his illegal confinement.
His custodial death substitutes popular observations that Modi cult of tyranny is on rise in Kashmir and other Kashmiri leaders aren’t safe and secure in prisons. Therefore, Pakistan should raise the question of Sahrayee’s custodial death on the international level and the UN should send investigation team to Kashmir to unravel the truth behind his death which threaten life of other leaders in Indian Jails. Moreover, focus should be on Kashmir ‘s abusive Modi regime and a just and equitable solution of Kashmir in line with political will of the Kashmiris.
Acting chairman DFP M. Saghar while eulogizing the supreme sacrifices of M Ashraf Sehrai and his family said that the deceased leader’s contribution to Kashmir cause would be written in golden words and remembered for a long time in the annals of Kashmir history. Terming him as a man of principle Saghar said that Seharai never compromised his ideals.
Extending his condolences to the bereaved family he prayed for the departed soul. Terming his death as a national loss he said that the deceased leader’s death in prison was clearly a case of extrajudicial killing as he was subjected to torture and put in abysmal conditions in the jail.
