DFP remembers Shaheed Burhan Wani on his 5th martyrdom anniversary

Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) has paid glowing tributes to Shaheed Burhan Muzaffar Wani, on his 5th martyrdom anniversary.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday the DFP spokesman said Shaheed Burhan would be remembered in the annals of Kashmir history for a long time.

“Burhan would be remembered as an icon of the resistance movement in Kashmir”, he said, adding that he was an institution in itself who gave a new shape to the liberation struggle.

Lauding the supreme sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs the spokesman said, “We as a nation owe a debt of gratitude to hundreds and thousands of martyrs who sacrificed their youthful lives for our freedom”. “It is these sacrifices that have brought Kashmir into international limelight”, he said.

Reiterating Kashmiris’ pledge to uphold the martyrs’ noble mission he expressed the hope that the sacrifices rendered by the Kashmiris would bear fruitful results.

Terming Kashmiris ongoing struggle as a legitimate and indigenous struggle, the spokesman urged the world community to play its due role in resolving the lingering dispute in line with the UN resolutions that guaranteed the right to self-determination to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
