APHC concerned over illegally incarcerated Political prisoners in IIOJK
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmed Irfani in a press release issued in Srinagar expressed his deep concern over the plight of illegally incarcerated leaders and activists of the ongoing resistance moment, languishing in different jails of India and the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Hurriyet leader while condemning the inhuman and barbaric behavior meted out to the Hurriyet leaders and activists by the jail authorities, said that the illegally detained people are denied the basic amenities such as medical treatment, hygienic diet and atmosphere as per jail manual. In the wake of devastating Covid 19 Pandemic, social distancing, and other SOP’s are impossible to maintain because of worst overcrowding in the jails.
Inmates are being treated as slaves and animals. And the jails have been turned into torture centers where inmates are being physically tortured and abused, added the statement. Referring to the critical condition of the ailing incarcerated leaders and activists languishing in faraway jails of of India such as, Tihar, Ajmeer, Jigher Punjab, Jodhpur, etc and within the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir, such as kotbulwal, Udhampur, Kathua, Readi, Amphala etc.the Hurriet leader said that Masarat Aalam Bhat, Mohamed Yasin Malik, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Dr.Hamid Fayaz, Ameer Hamza, Mohammad Yousuf Mir, Mohammad Yousuf Falahi, Dr.Gh.Mohammad Bhat, Muzaffer Ahmed Dar etc.in addition to other leaders,languishing in Tihar jail, Ayaz Akbar, Pir Saifullah, Raja Merajudin Kalwal, Shahidul Islam, Farooq Ahmed Dar, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Shaid Yousaf Shah, Shakeel Yousaf Shah, Fahmida Sofi, Naheedah Nasreen, Zahoor Ahmed Watali (businessman) etc. And those leaders who have been served life imprisonment for the crime which they have not committed, include Dr.Shafi Sharieti, Dr.Mohamad Qasim, Gh.Qadir Bhat, Mohamed Ayoub Mir, Mohamed Ayoub Dar, Nazir Ahmed Shiek, Showkat Ahmed Khan, Maqsood Ahamad Bhat, Ashraf Lali etc. are languishing in these hell like jails and their health conditions are deteriorating day by day in these jails.
The Hurriyet leader urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights and other International Human Rights Organizations, including, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Red Cross Committee to impress upon India to allow them visit and observe on spot pathetic condition of the illegally detained leaders and activists of the freedom movement of Kashmir in these jails. The Hurriyet leader blamed India for its criminal negligence towards the welfare of the incarcerated leaders and activists of our resistance moment which is a heinous crime and sheer violation of Human Rights Charter Of 1948.
The Hurriyet leader urged the United Nations Secretary General to use its good offices to take serious action against the violation of human rights with reference to the people of the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in general and those of incarcerated detainees, in particular, at the hands of Indian occupation forces and jail authorities. The Hurriyet leader also urged the United Nations Secretary General to help resolve Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security council Resolutions as early as possible in the interests of global peace and prosperity.
