APHC concerned about incarcerated leaders and activists
The All Parties Hurriyet Conference spokesman in a press release issued in Srinagar condemned the plight of the incarcerated leaders and activists affiliated with the resistance movement of Indian illegally occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir and said that the callous behavior meted out to these detainees languishing in different far off jails of India and within the occupied territory, has endangered their lives. Expressing his deep concern over the deteriorating health conditions of the prisoners, the spokesman lashed out at the Fascist Regime of India for its brazen violation of prisoners rights as guaranteed by the Human Rights Charter of 1948.
Giving details of the deprivation of the basic amenities and atrocities inflicted on the illegally detained leaders and activists of the ongoing resistance movement of Kashmir the spokesman said that the suffocating atmosphere due to the overcrowding in these jails has given rise to multiple problems such as scarcity of water ,toilet and washing problems, social distancing as required to maintain Covid 19 SOP’s, etc.
Insufficient medical treatment, unhygienic food, 24 hrs lock up in death cells ,physical violence, non availability of library and indoor entertainment facilities has made the life of these detainees worse than animals, alleged the Hurriyet spokesman.
Hailing the exemplary steadfastness of our prisoners of conscience the spokesman paid rich tributes to all of them ,especially the female prisoners including Syeda Aasiya Andrabi,Fahmeedah Sofi,Naheedah Nasreen, Shazia Akhter,Haseena Begum,Saaima,Insha Tariq, Hina Bashir,Mehboob Shafqat,Saiqa Akhter,Aasiya Bano,Ilas Aara,Unjman Younus,Shabnam Maqbool and others ,and said that any resistance movement fully supported by the common masses including woman ,old and young cannot be deterred to lead its destination.
The Hurriyet spokesman, referring to the increasing number of jails to be constructed for the illegally and arbitrarily detained people of Kashmir, expressed his dismay and urged the United Nations Council for Human Rights and all other Human Rights Organisations to prevail upon India to stop widespread random and unlawful detentions, Human Rights Abuses and genocide perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces in Kashmir.
It has become imperative to settle Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security council Resolutions, keeping in view the mass uprising in Kashmir despite the oppressive and suppressive measures adopted by one million Indian occupation forces.
