APHC-AJK holds protest demo with black flags in Islamabad on India’s I-Day

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter staged a protest demonstration in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad, today, holding black flags to mark India’s Independence Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesters chanted slogans against Indian illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and in favor of freedom.

Speakers said Kashmiris have been sacrificing their lives for freedom for the last 78 years, and India cannot win their hearts through oppression.

They emphasized that the plebiscite demand is the basic right of Kashmiris, and the struggle will continue till complete from from Indian hegemony. The speakers urged the United Nations to play its role in the peaceful resolution of the lingering Kashmir dispute to establish permanent peace in the entire South Asian region.

The speakers called on the United Nations and the Security Council to hold a free, fair, and impartial referendum in the territory by annulling India’s illegal actions of August 5, 2019.

Among those who spoke on the occasion were APHC-AJK convenor Ghulam Muhammad Safi, Shameem Shawl, Senator Allama Nasir Abass Jafri, Muslim League’s Chaudhry Shafiq, Bari Imam media coordinator Syed Hasnain Bukhari, MLA AJK Assembly Raza Qadri, and other Hurriyat leaders and Kashmiri displaced members, who participated in the anti-India protest.
