APHC-AJK chapter organized a protest demonstration in Islamabad  on Burhan Day

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter organized a protest demonstration in Islamabad today, marking the 8th martyrdom anniversary of popular Kashmiri youth leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the protest rally was led by APHC-AJK leader, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, and joined by others, including AJK minister Imityaz Naseem, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Syed Faiz Naqashbandii, Altaf Hussain Wani, Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Mir Tahir Masood, Javeed Jahagir, Hassanul Bana, Shaikh Yaqoob, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Zahid Ashraf, Ghulam Nabi Butt, Dawood Khan Yousuf Zai, Abdul Majeed Mir, Chudhary Shaheen Iqbal, Syed Gulshun, Mian Muzaffar, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Manzoor Ahmed Dar, Shaikh Majid, Abdul Majeed, Zahid Mushtaq, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Muhammad Sultan Butt, Khursheed Ahmed Mir, Raies Ahmed Mir, Showket Ahmed Butt, Manzoorul Haq Butt, Benazir Bano, Adv Nabeela Irshad, Rehana Khan, Najieeb Gafoor Khan, Bashir Ahmed Usmani, Haji Sardar Siddiq, Raja Parviaz Ahmed, Raja Afsar Khan and dozens of Kashmiris.

The rally saw people fervently marching towards the Indian High Commission. Holding portraits of Burhan Wani and placards adorned with pro-freedom messages, they resounded with chants honoring Kashmiri martyrs and condemning India’s illegal occupation.

Addressing the gathering, Hurriyat leaders paid glowing tributes to Burhan Wani and other martyrs, underscoring their sacrifices as a cornerstone of Kashmir’s struggle for self-determination. They emphasized that Burhan Wani’s martyrdom ignited a renewed spirit among Kashmiri youth, firmly challenging India’s oppressive tactics in IIOJK.

Denouncing India’s continued use of brute force to suppress Kashmiris’ legitimate aspirations, they maintained that people of Kashmir were determined to continue their struggle for right to self-determination till complete success.

They emphasized that Burhan Wani, through his martyrdom, passed on the mantle of Kashmir’s freedom struggle to the younger generation. Today, they noted, every youth of Kashmir stands steadfast against India’s illegal occupation, echoing Wani’s unwavering commitment to Kashmiris’ rights and aspirations.

The APHC-AJK leaders underscored the pressing need for international bodies to intervene and address the escalating human rights abuses in IIOJK. They also urgently called for the release of thousands of Kashmiri detainees, including APHC Chairman Masarrat Aalam Butt, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Dr. Hameed Fayaz, and others who are languishing in various jails across IIOJK and India.
