5 February, was marked as solidarity day for Kashmir to ensure continuity in Pakistan’s historical support to the cause of freedom and the right of self-determination. The pledge was reiterated & redeemed by all across Pakistan by the organs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, it’s people, Government and the political , religious and humanitarian organizations with fervor and enthusiasm. Different segments of the society showed to galvanize support in their own way for Kashmir. Massive rallies, demonstrations, were taken and seminars and meetings, tv shows were held across the country and in AJK to call upon the UN to implement the relevant resolutions on J&K. Pakistan’s diplomatic missions and organizations abroad also took lead in calling upon India to repeal all Indian laws , Re Organization Act, New Domicile Act, stop victimization of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and withdraw 5 August 2019 Union Territory Declaration of the President and Parliament and set free all the political leaders, and revoke the prosecution orders in various Indian jails.
On this special occasion the President Alvi, PM Imran Khan , Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bhajva, and the opposition leaders paid visits to AJK, the LoC, addressed people reassured Pakistan’s continued support to the cause of freedom in the illegally occupied State of Jammu and Kashmir . President hailed the sacrifices of the Kashmiris, pledged to support them till freedom and said the time had come to settle Kashmir peacefully according to the urges of the people & UN resolutions. PM Imran Khan, termed the aspirations of the Kashmiris very vital for the country without mentioning the article 257 of the Pakistan Constitution he said the Kashmiris had the right to be with us or live as an independent country which meant they could determine perimeters of relations with this country after the accession with Pakistan under the UN sponsored plebiscite.
The army chief General Qamar Javed Bajva paid rich tributes to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for their sacrifices and steadfastness in such times of tribulations and said the time had come to end travails of the Kashmiris and settle the dispute peacefully according to the People’s urges and aspirations.
The highlights of the day have their importance and could be ground breaking if required international measures are followed to bring diplomatic pressure on India’s obduracy through good offices of the UN Secretary General, US Congress, British Parliament, European Union, OIC and every mechanism is used to achieve this end.
It’s noteworthy that the UN Chief António Guterres has every time expressed concern, offered his services , supported the Kashmiris and never agreed with India’s oppressive gamble of 5 August 2019. Of course as per the 73 years old various phases of the Kashmir freedom struggle, Pakistan has nothing to lose in J&K, in whatsoever way the issue is referred to the people by the world community. Therefore, Pakistan must make its support meaningful, continue its exemplary support to the freedom movement and help raising the status, symbol and indigenous influence of the political struggle as against the steps taken by India in Occupied Kashmir on or before 5 August, 2019.
