Jammu and Kashmir Young Men’s league has hailed the statement of the  Pakistan Prime Minister on Kashmir made in  a tweet yesterday.In a press release issued today, the Vice-Chairman of the party, Mr. Zahid Ashraf welcomed the tweet saying that it was very a positive statement that reflected a forward looking, peaceful mindset as against the rabidly virulent, communal and chauvinist psyche of the Indian regime which had brought the subcontinent to the edge of war and  human catastrophe. Applauding the statement of the Pakistan premier and the reinforcement of 2003 ceasefire understanding on the LOC , Zahid Ashraf said that it was very encouraging and augured well for the entire subcontinent and the teeming millions living across it if India adhered to the ceasefire understanding and reciprocated Prime Minister’s gesture in due manner, by reversing its unilateral actions it had taken on Kashmir and returning to the  composite dialogue  mechanism with Pakistan long abandoned. Zahid Ashraf further said that Pakistan PM was absolutely right in stating that the onus of creating a conducive environment for any progress was on India and for that  steps towards the resolution of Kashmir on the basis of the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination as defined and  incorporated in  the  relevant UNSC resolutions needed to be taken. He said that India must acknowledge that Kashmir constituted the core dispute between the two nuclear neighbors and involved the political future of more than 12 million Kashmiris which if ignored would remain a real and potential threat to the peace f the region and a permanent impediment to prosperity n stability across the subcontinent
