Seminar held on Plight of Palestine and Kashmir

 

A seminar was held on the deteriorating situation of Palestine, plight of Kashmiri prisoners and killings youths in fake encounters here on Tuesday. 

According to details, people in seminar expressed grave concern over the Indian government’s repression in the disputed state, restrictions on freedom of expression, the deteriorating health of Kashmiri prisoners in Indian jails and the arrest of innocent civilians. 

While addressing the meeting, the speakers paid rich tribute to the struggle of martyr prisoner Mohammad Ashraf Sahrai and termed the actions of the Indian forces against the Sahrai family as malicious. 

Speakers said that Israel and India have openly resorted terrorism against Islam and Muslims.

“The two countries have not only occupied the two Islamic states but are also openly trying to convert the Muslim majority into minority”, they maintained. 

The speakers appealed the Muslims (including the OIC) around the globe to stand against the infidel forces trying to occupy Jammu Kashmir and Palestine. 

The speakers reiterated that the people of Kashmir and Palestine will continue their freedom struggle by offering the eternal sacrifices.

Mirwaiz Kashmir Maulvi Muhammad Farooq was martyred on May 20, 1991 while on May 21, 1991, 71 more civilians were martyred and hundreds were injured when the Indian Army opened fire on the people attending his funeral.

Moreover, on the 9th martyrdom anniversary of Maulvi Farooq, another Hurriyat leader Abdul Ghani Lone was killed by Indian armed forces on May 21, 2002. 

The session decided to hold a reference on May 21st to pay homage to Maulvi Muhammad Farooq, Abdul Ghani Lone and other Martyrs of freedom struggle.  

Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, Vice Chairman International Forum for Justice and Human Rights Mushtaq-ul-Islam, President All Pakistan Muslim League-Azad Kashmir Javed Ahmad Mughal, Raja Zakheer Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail, Usman  Ali Hashim, Faisal Farooq and Muhammad Fayyaz Khan were also present on the occasion.
